The Governing
Body
The Governing Body at St. Mary’s
is, like all governing bodies, drawn from four discreet groups who bring to the
school a range of skills and expertise to assist in its governance.
The diocese appoints four foundation governors, and the
parents in the school elect four Parent Governors and the teachers elect Teacher
Governors from amongst their number. In addition, the Governing Body can co-opt
up to four further Co-opted Governors who are appointed for their particular
skills, expertise and to strengthen links with the local community. Governors
normally serve for a four year term.
